My name is Tawna and I am 18 years old. I am from a medium-large size town in southern Saskatchewan along the Number 1 Highway. A lot of people have heard of Moosomin and a lot of people have not heard of it. I think it is the perfect town (of course). There are roughly twenty-five hundred people living there. We have two grocery stores, numerous restaurants and both a high school and an elementary school. When I was in high school I was very heavily involved in the happenings both in the school and out. I was in everything from drama to Students’ Representative Council to the golf team. Outside of school I always had a part time job and I volunteered everyday at the elementary school. I have a small family and a cat. My mom works in the farming industry and my brother is a sports enthousiast in grade ten (he got all of the coordination and athleticism while I got some of the brains). My father lives here in Regina where he works for CanadaPost. I was blessed to have a sister who taught me much about the importance and value of life. Dayna was eighteen months older than I am and she was born with a rare syndrome that affects only girls, Rett Syndrome, she was both mentally and physically handicapped where she was bound to a wheel chair. Dayna, however, was the reason we should all keep our head high everday, she could cry, feel, laughand love, she was a deserving person and I want to be able to help others too because of her. This is the reason I have chosen my minor as such. I am in my first year of the Secondary Education program at the University of Regina, my major is Mathematics with a minor in Special Education. I am really excited to be here and looking forward to my future career. I am really excited to be taking ECMP 355 and think it is such an interesting and informative class. Feel free to explore my blog and leave a comment.
